A. UNEXPECTED EVACUATION (3-10 minutes):

Family pets, with leashes

Purse (w/ credit cards), ID, and car keys
Cell phone and charger
Prescription medications
Glasses, contact lenses and solution
Hidden cash, if any
Laptop computers with power cords, or hard drive, or ghost drive
Important documents, if not on computer or in fireproof box
(i.e. passports, birth certificates, SS cards, etc.)
9. Marked personal scriptures and personal journal (if not on computer)

B. PLANNED EVACUATION (30 minutes):

1. ALL OF THE ABOVE, PLUS
2. Fireproof box with personal documents and our familys medical history
3. Two sets underclothing, 1 pair jeans, top, sneakers, jacket, and umbrella
4. 72-hour emergency backpacks and food kits, and bottled water
5. Flashlight with batteries
6. Transistor radio
7. Sunscreen and mosquito repellent
8. Blankets, pillows, air mattress, and porta-potty
9. Make-up, face soap and cream, tooth brush, tooth paste, hair brush
10. Box of family photo albums (our kids have some duplicates, so this is last)
11. Any important personal comfort/hygiene items
12. All-weather tarp

C. PLANNED EVACUATION (4-12 hours):

Box of assorted canned food, plus pet food, with can opener
3-7 day water supply
Suitcase of clothing and shoes
Scrapbooks, important framed photos on walls
Meaningful personal items, such as jewelry, memorabilia, etc.

NOTE: The above lists are personalized just for my family. Obviously your lists
may be very different. (Example, pacifier and blankie might be right at the top!)
Your evacuation list also depends on where you are going (if you have relatives or
other safe havens), as well as the circumstances of the evacuation. AN
IMPORTANT PLAN OF ACTION IS TO KEEP ALL IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
(see above) IN ONE PLACE, IF NOT IN FIREPROOF BOX.
