The evidence provided by the case is that, rather than working with people that is in
the same discipline as they are, people at Tymco worked with those that are from
different units. An instance of this is when the supervisor of technical
documentation Boundreau worked with Jenkins, who is from technical training and
Benito, who is from translation services.

that the home rehab day
results in genuine team development?
It is advisable that for the following perhaps, a debriefing session is to be conducted
so that the group would be able to discuss and share what they have learned about
the concept of teamwork. Being able to reflect on what they have experienced can
potentially lead to a behavioral change to the members of the group that is why it is
important that there will be some sort of a group discussion, probably over lunch.
Giving rewards may also be a good idea. That reward must be something that the
team can use together. For example, a night out bowling. Maria should also mix up
the groups when doing a team related function for there to be a genuine team
development.

spirit?
Evidence on teamwork development occurred when 10 participants painted the
house together towards the end of the project. The Tymco team members also
exchanged smiles, high fives and hugs, further suggesting they were able to build
camaraderie among each other. Aside from that, each member also accepted their
assigned responsibility, discovered their strengths and weaknesses and was able to
work well with each other. This shows that the home rehab day was able to
effectively boost team spirit.
QUESTION 4: How valid is Grahams comment about replacing shingles
having no particular impact on becoming a better team player?
Grahams argument that replacing shingles provides no impact on becoming a team
player is valid, however, he is missing the point of replacing shingles being a
contribution to an interdependent task, and that doing such can promote teamwork.
No teamwork will develop if Graham went out alone and replace the shingles. His
not being able to interact with others did not encourage the concept of being a
team player.
