Soon, the Chinese world will bid farewell to the

year of the snake and welcome the year of the
horse.
What will the Lunar New Year bring? Will this
year of the horse bring to us speedy success,
unexpected romances, surprising adventures?
No one knows what this New year will bring. No
one can predict whether it will be a good year or
not. One thing for sure is that we are invited to
live this new Lunar New Year with faith.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one
hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in
to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Rev 3,
20)
God is the one taking the first step each new
year, each new day, to invite us to open our
doors to him and let him cross the threshold of
our lives. He has so much love to give to us; so
much peace to share with us; and He longs to be
the Lord and God of our hearts.

Faith is to open the door of our hearts and never

get tired of asking God to stay with us, in
moments of our profound joy as well as
moments of our deepest pain.
Too often, we open the doors of our hearts to
fears that paralyze us, instead of Love that
strengthens us. We open the doors of our hearts
to voices that make us hopeless, and do not
listen to the voice of Love telling us that there is
hope. We live through each day working hard for
things that offer no guarantee for the future, and
we forget to work for love that opens us to God
and others.
It is a challenge to live with faith. Yet, as
Christians, we are called to live with God, the
source of faithful love and everlasting peace.

In this year of the horse, may we gallop with

renewed faith as we place our lives and our loved
ones in the hands of Love.
A blessed Lunar New Year to all!

God takes and keeps taking the initiative. What

about us?

Effective listening to God daily

Less judgement, more understanding
