For the month of July I worked for Dominican Universitys Summer Literacy Program. I
worked with a group of professionals to help ensure that the students entering this
program leave in invaluable knowledge and skill set necessary to succeed for the
upcoming school year. Much of what we focused on was reading passages and reflecting
on what was learned in order to successfully utilize information given to us in passages.
For students who struggled with fluency, we worked individually to guarantee that every
student benefitted from this program. We oftentimes used iPads and computers to engage
the students in a more modern approach without losing sight of the goal.
