OVERVIEW

Committed to the direction of Greater Sustainability in the Grassroots Level, CFC

YouthforChrist(YFC)ismovingtoempowermoretheYFCmembersandgivethempastoral
formation that will help them in their spiritual growth and nourishment. YFC also
acknowledgesthefactthatitsmembersneedtogrownotonlyinhis/herpersonalrelationship
withGodbutalsogrowinhis/herrelationshipwiththefamily,friends,thecommunityandthe
societywherehe/shebelongsin.

Moreso,YFCbelievesthatintensepastoralsupportisneededbyaYFCmembernotjust
inthefirstyearofhis/hermembership,butallthroughouthis/herYFClife.Becauseofthis,YFC
startstogivepastoralformationinthefirstthreeyearsofYFCmembership.Hence,the3Year
PastoralFormationTrackforYFCgeneralmembership.

The3YearPastoralFormation(PFO)TrackisthenewcompiledpastoralmoduleofYFC
giventoallmembersofYFCregardlessofareaorprogramofservice.Itiscomposedoftwelve
(12)modules,whichwillstartwithaYouthCamp,theentryactivityofthosewhowanttojoin
YFC.

PHASESOFEVANGELIZATION

The3YearPastoralFormation(PFO)Trackcaterstothree(3)PhasesofEvangelization,
whichrepresentsthenumberofyearsofYFCmembership.

YEAR1KNOWINGTHEFAITH
ThisisthephasewhenaYFCstartedgettingtoknowGodmoreandstarted
learningtoexperiencebelongingtoasupportcommunitylikeYFC.
He/she starts getting to know his/her family more in the light of Christian
valuesandprinciples.
He/shestartsbeingopentotheideathatlovingthepoorisanexpressionof
lovingGod.

YEAR2DEEPENINGTHEFAITH
ThisisthephasewhereaYFCiscalledtoadeeperrelationshipwithGodby
taking more active role in the family and by taking faith a step higher by
exemplifyingexcellenceinstudiesandlivinga100%Freelife.

ThisisthephasewhereaYFCsconvictionisstrengthenedandlivedoutby
takingactivediscernmentsforthefuturethatGodhasinstorehim/her;by
activelyparticipatinginthesacramentsandinworkingsofthebiggerChurch;
andbytakingaproactivestandintheissuesinthesociety.

Of the 12 PFO Tracks, 3 are old YFC manuals which are fully revised to cater to the
changingtimes.Thesetracksarethefollowing:

1. YOUTHCAMP
TheYouthCampistheentrypointtoYFC.Itisa2day,2nightweekendactivity
thatintroducestheyouthtoanewlifeinChrist,throughYFC,foundedinGods
ultimate love for them. This will start their journey as a YFC member and will
open new and exciting opportunities for them to grow in their personal
relationshipwithGod.
TheRevisedYouthCampManualfeaturesamoreextensiveexplanationofthe
Youth Camp, its compositions, activities and sessions. It will address the
question how is the Youth Camp conducted really? and will lay down the
principlesbehinditsactivities,debunkingpracticesthatisnotreallypartofour
culturebuthavebeendoneovertheyears.
This includes new handbooks for the Team Leaders, Facilitators and Prayer
Warriors.

2. COVENANTORIENTATION
The Covenant Orientation (CO) is the Pastoral Formation Track that laid down
ourcommitmentsasYFCmembers,asshownintheYFCCovenantCard.
ObjectivesoftheCovenantOrientationare:
1. LearnandunderstandthecovenantofaCFCYouthforChristmember.
2. Renew and deepen our commitment with Christ by understanding and
followingourcovenantwithHim.
3. Develop a sense of identity and responsibility in our role as a believer of
faith,amemberofourchurch,ourfamily,ourcommunityandourcountry.
4. InspiretheyouthastheymatureintheirChristianlifethroughYFC.
5. LiveoutthecovenantofYFCthroughthepastoralformationandactivities.

3. DISCOVERYCAMP
TheDiscoveryCampisthe1stpastoralformationtrackonthemembers2ndyear
inYFC.ItisgivenoneyearaftertheYouthCamp.
ThistalksaboutmoreextensivelythedifferentaspectsofaYFCslifeandshows
theYFCChristianwayofdealingwiththeseaspect.Italsoservesasarefresher
coursefortheYFCmembersoftheirexperienceintheiryouthcamp.Thisactivity
aimstobringthemtoadeeperlevelofcommitmenttoGod,toYFCandtotheir
households.

The rest of the PFO tracks are very new manuals, which address the needs of the
newCFCYouthforChristwithits7Identitiesandcorevalues.ThisisYFCsresponsetothe
call to be more relevant to the times. The following are the new Pastoral Formation
Modules:

4. FAMILYCULTURE
Awholedayactivity,giveninaYFCmembersfirstyear
ItallowsourYFCmemberstoappreciatethedifferentfamilycultureswhichare
uniqueineveryfamilyandallowsthemtoappreciatetheentirefamilyandthe
differentpersonalitiesofthefamilymembers.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) This formation track aims for the YFC members to acknowledge, to
appreciateandtounderstandthedistinctcultureineachoftheirfamily.
b) ThisseeksfortheYFCmemberstobelieveandtounderstandthattheLord
hasauniqueplanfortheirfamily.
c) ThisaimstoletYFCmembersrealizethatwearetofulfillGodspromisesfor
thefamilytoourrespectivefamilies.

5. YOUTHPOWER
Awholedayactivity,giveninaYFCmembersfirstyear.
ItfocusesonYFCsresponsetothesocialdimensionofthegospel,whichisloving
others,especiallylovingthepoorasourexpressionofourloveforGod.
ObjectivesoftheActivityare:
a) For the YFC to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of our
missionofbuildingthechurch ofthepoor.
b) ProvideanopportunityforYFCtobeatruechampionofthepoor.
c) ShowthatourdeeploveforGodinYFCisalsoexpressedbyputtingourfaith
intoaction.

6. PARENTSHONORINGNIGHT
Anightactivity,giveninaYFCmemberssecondyearasaYFC.
ThisisastructuredfellowshipwhichallowstheYFCmemberstohaveavenueto
appreciatetheirparentsandvocallyhonortheminfrontofothers.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) Level up the YFCs appreciation of his/her family through the culture of
appreciatingandhonoring.
b) Provide a venue for the YFC members, their parents, the YFC Couple
CoordinatorsandtheCFCtointeractandbuildrelationshipandsupport.

c) Bring out from the parents, the CFC, and the members of the other
ministries, the appreciation of YFC and the work of CFC in bringing families
closertoeachother.

7. 100%FREE
Awholedayactivity,giveninaYFCmemberssecondyearasaYFC.
Thisisalaunchingofthenewandimprovedconceptof100%Free,comingfrom
the previous 100% Pure advocacy. It is an overview of all the repackaged
principlesandadvocaciesof100%Free,giveninacreativeandcomprehensible
manner.
It is all in all encouraging the YFC into aiming and advocating to live a life free
fromthebondageofsinandtheluresoftheworld.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) Explainthenewconceptof100%Free.
b) CreateanawarenessofourGodsgivenfreedom.
c) Movetheyouthininitiatinga100%Freelifestyle.

8. STAKEFORTHENATION
Ahalfdayactivity,giveninaYFCmemberssecondyearasaYFC.
ThispastoralformationstressesthehighestcallingofeveryYFC,whichisbeinga
student.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) For YFC to realize that their highest calling is to study well/actively pursue
learning
b) Instillinthemtheimportanceofstudying/learning
c) Widen their perspective and see that studying is their stake for the nation
now

9. VOCATIONRECOLLECTION
A whole day activity, which gives the YFC members a venue to appreciate the
different vocations and Gods personal calling for them. It is given in a YFC
membersthirdyearasaYFC.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) FortheYFCtobeawareandtoappreciatethedifferenttypesofvocationor
calling.
b) InitiateintheheartsoftheYFCthedesiretoseekwhattheLordsplanfor
ourlives.

10. BESTWEEKEND
AnOvernightactivityFathersonandMomdaughterbondingactivity.Itisgiven
inaYFCmembersthirdyearasaYFC.
ThisactivityreinforcestheYFCsroleinthefamilyashe/sheentersintoacamp
withhis/herfather/mother.Itisagreatvenueforbondingandsharingbetween
thefatherandhissonandbetweenthemotherandherdaughter.
Inthesameway,thiswillbeanevangelisticexperienceaswellfortheparents
whoarenotmembersofCFC.

11. CHURCHANDSACRAMENTS
A wholeday, immersiontype activity, given in a YFC members third year as a
YFC.
AvenuefortheYFCtoappreciatemoreourfaiththroughourrelationshipwith
thebiggerCatholicChurch
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) UnderstandandappreciateourbeingpartoftheCHURCH;
b) HaveadeeperunderstandingoftheSACRAMENTSandliveoutourfaith
throughtheSacramentofReconciliationandHolyEucharist;
c) ShareourfaithbylivingoutandenrichingourrolesintheCHURCH.

12. YOUTHADVOCATE
Awholedayactivity,giveninaYFCmembersthirdyearinYFC
AnactivityfortheYFCtoactivelymakestandsinsocietythatwilltranslatetheir
Christianidealsandvaluesandencouragethemtoactivelypursuethesestands.
Objectivesoftheactivityare:
a) Maketheyouthrealizethattheycanfightforwhattheygreatlyvalue.
b) HelpthemunderstandwhatandhowitmeanstobeatrueChristian
Advocate.
c) HelpthembeawareforthevaluesthatYFCadvocatesasacommunity.
