In this case the Facility Administrator Jack Morelli use his position as power to
undermine Mary and to convince the board of directors to go with the software package
from Standard. In this case the close relationship that the vendor had with board was an
influential factor as well.

2. How much power relative to this decision did Mary, Jack, and the president of Standard
Software possess, and what type of power was it?
Mary in this case posessed personal power as the accounting manager. However, as the
facility manager Jack used his power of position to influence the deal. The president of
Standard Software held the greatest power which was influence! He was able to use his
power of influence to be reward the contract again from Restview Hosptial.

3. As the accounting manager Mary could appealed directly to the board of directors and
lobbied for a hearing with them. In this case Mary should have filed a written complaint
regarding the unethical business transaction
