Reading:
This week, we have been just reviewing the strategies we
have worked on this year: predicting, questioning,
inferring, retelling, and visualizing! They have also loved
having reading conferences with me and sharing about
their book!
Writing:
This week, we have worked on turning our notes into
full paragraphs! They have done a fabulous job! Today,
we worked on taking a “verb inventory” and turning
weak verbs into powerful verbs! They had a lot of fun
brainstorming new ways they could make their verbs
more vivid in their writing!

Math Question
If I have only pennies and nickels in my

Math:
The first part of our week was spent working on finding
the perimeter and area of classroom objects! Today and
SAT/ARMT
tomorrow, we will be reviewing and creating graphs: Don’t forget to write 4 notes of
pictographs, line graphs, bar graphs, and pie graphs! On encouragement to your child over the
Friday, we will spend our time playing some games that break! You may send in the 4 sealed
model probability! Should be a fun rest of our week! envelopes to me on the Monday we
return labeled for each day and I will be
Science/Social Studies: sure to distribute them to their desk
After learning how to read maps, it is now time for
them to create their own! They will be constructing and
each morning!
designing a map of a city, complete with roads, I know this will mean so much to them!
intersections, and buildings! I’m so glad we waited to
work on this unit after learning about intersecting
lines!!

It’s almost here! When we return from spring break, their only homework each night will be to get
a GOOD night’s rest and eat a GOOD breakfast in the morning. Please make sure to talk to your
child about the test to help alleviate any fears they may have. This test will NOT determine if they
go to the 4th grade or not. Please make sure your child arrives on time during each testing day. If
your child shows up after testing has begun, they will not be allowed to come into our class until
testing is over for that day.
