JOB DESCRIPTION: Secretary/ Examiner - Part-Time to provide administrative support

to the Commission. Duties include, but may not be limited to: keep records and preserve
all reports; superintend local testing for civil service positions; assist with managing
testing processes; and other related tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of two (2) years of college OR
-Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in a related field OR
-Any combination of education, legal/ civil service background or training and experience
that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job well
-Experience maintaining personnel records, preparing employment advertisements, and
working with computerized spreadsheets and word processing programs
-Good oral and written communication skills; able and willing to follow oral or written
instructions
-Able to exercise good judgment when in contact with the public
-Able to maintain strict confidentiality of persons and paperwork and to handle sensitive
material appropriately
-Physically able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds
-Pass Civil Service Commission written and oral examinations to employer's satisfaction
-Pass background check and drug screening to employer's satisfaction
Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check. However, having a
criminal record will not automatically eliminate you from consideration for the
job. Records will be considered based on the requirements for RCW 9.96A, RCW
43.43, WAC 162-12 and WAC 446-20.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English, both written and
verbal
HOURS/ DAYS/ SCHEDULE: Part-Time, 4 - 24 hrs/month, schedule discussed at
interview
SALARY/ WAGES/ BENEFITS: $13.58/hr - $18.20/hr, DOE and qualifications
CLOSING DATE/ DEADLINE: Open until filled or at discretion of employer.
