Subject: AHA Night Man Powered Float

AHA stands for Art History Architecture; our task is to participate in New Bedfords
AHA Night Earth Day event. AHA Night wants to be a cooperative venture dedicated
to invigorating the New Bedford cultural scene. Our group the Eco-Friends has
partnered with an organization the Lloyd Center for the Environment, and will be
building a float to display in the parade. The float has guidelines we must follow in
order to represent Earth Day and what it stands for.
Project Details
We will be working in partnership with an organization called the Lloyd Center for the
Environment. The main objective is to complete a man powered sustainable float to display at
New Bedfords AHA Night, but we will also be doing some fundraising for our partner too. We
plan on using Not Your Average Joes fundraiser Not Your Average Cause. Our float we are
planning on doing a nature theme with a pond/lake/body-of-water underlying the trails
landscape, on the trail we will have a logo of the Lloyd Center and as we hold the float we will
be in fish hats or mask representing that we are under water.

Significance of project

What is important to our partner is whats important to us. We want to come as close
as we can to representing what the Lloyd Center for the Environment is all about; The
Lloyd Center is the only area organization focused on educating the public about
coastal and watershed issues, and conducting research on coastal ecosystems and
endangered species. For serving our partners we plan on participation in events that
they hold to show how involved and interested we are in what they are doing. i.e.
nature hikes, clean ups, bird watching, and story time.
At the end of this we hope to have reached all task that we had set, but also to leave
an impression within the community that shows the usefulness of keeping a clean
area and that making a difference start with you.
