Narrative Report on Gender and Development

Gender is recognized as a defining factor in ones development. Whether you are male, a
female or a transgender each one has an important role in the society. The behavior and
characteristics may differ from each other but it is recognizable to respect individual differences
to affair harmonious relationship. It is also paramount to masters ones innate traits and
limitations to be able to adopt to the community. As the great philosopher Socrates sa (Know thy
self) that we be able to understand to really we are in our totality.
In our profession as educators, we cannot negate the fact that we encounter difficulties
understanding individual differences. Mingling with our peers the children who are primary
recipients of our social mission, the parents and guardians, the leaders in our barangay and
religious group.
We dont leave alone, in our everyday existence we cannot avoid to interact with these
groups and so doing we develop the solid foundation of social environment that will dictate our
mandates.
We dont lose focus on our fundamental upbringing to become a contributing member to
effect change in our society.
Taking into considerations all factors affecting the person, it is expected that the best
results will come out in the final end.
Maturity of the mind is not enough without the heart. As we evolve in out society,
compassion, love, and understanding complete the picture.
Dedication, commitment and a sense of responsibility meet to contain the success we
aspire to attain.
Pride in our accomplishments, showing sympathy to failures.
But boldness to rise up challenges makes one recognize his capacity and capability to go
up the ladder of triumph and success despite all odds and difficulties.
Importantly, it is our responsibility to share this experience even to the school children
we entrusted to educate. This is how gender and development become indispensable to one
another.
