Innocent symbolism of the little girl in red

The little girl in red was intended to symbolize the innocence during
the mass killings of the Jews. She has innocence still as a kid, beyond what is
going on around her. She wanders amongst the several shootings and
beatings and the panicking crowd obliviously but calmly. She knows not what
is happening or why, but all of these irrational things are being forced into
her life. And that represents the innocence of the Jewish community being
punished for reasons they don't understand.
The little girl in red and the turn-around in the character of Schindler
The first time Schindler saw the little girl he was warmly affected. She
was a child who walks purposelessly down the streets ignoring the mass
murders occurring around her. Later in the film, he saw that innocent little
girl killed among the other Jews, and this was the major turning point for
Schindler because he soon realized that they were casually killing a lot of
people. This helped him see the real terrors and horrors of the holocaust,
how innocent people, even children, were being cruelly slaughtered. Then he
started to show guilt for the terrible happenings that are taking place in front
of him that he is letting to happen and changed into someone who sees
himself just like ordinary people, the Jews.
