CCA requires one of the following items to document English

proficiency as part of your exchange application:

TOEFL score *: CCA accepts paper- and Internet-based versions of the exam.
Applicants must have a minimum score of 550 on the PBT, or 79 on the iBT.

IELTS score * :International English Language Testing System minimum scores of 6.5 and
higher.

CAE score *: Cambridge English: Advanced minimum score of Grade C

SAT score *: Critical Reading and Writing score of 490 and greater

ACT score *: English and Reading subsections scores of 20 and greater

IB score *: English score of four and greater

Letter of recommendation from an instructor of English at your school, documenting the


students level of English proficiency and ability to succeed in a US classroom setting.

* When submitting test scores, original score reports or official notarized copies are required.
We cannot accept scanned copies of test scores. Test scores are valid from two years since the
exam was taken. Older scores will not be accepted.
Starting with applicants for Fall 2015, students that do not submit one of the items above
cannot be admitted to CCA for an exchange semester since they do not meet the English
language requirement for a J-1 exchange visitor visa.
