When someone is paid a set rate for an item produced

Gross pay = $/item x # of items

Examples: Show all your work.


1. Bob works as a tree planter. He is paid $0.90 for each tree
planted. If he plants 87 trees in one day, what is his gross
pay?

2. Maria works in the garment industry and is paid $1.40


for each hem and $1.80 for each waistband. How much
does she earn by hemming 27 dresses and attaching 20
waistbands?

5. Cindy works as a freelance writer and is paid $0.18 per


word. How many words were in an article in which she
was paid $81.00?

6. Paul works as a carpenter and charges $18 for installing


a kitchen cabinet. If he installs 15 cabinets, what did he
earn?
