DISCUSSION :

Based on the experiment PW11 of installing BNC connectors to RG58

cabling we can discuss that to install this BNC connector we must follow a few steps.
First of all, before doing this experiment we should know what BNC connectors.
These connectors are used for cables carrying radio frequency signals. One type of
cable that can be used with these connectors is RG58. This cable is called coaxial
cables, because they carry both an insulator and transmission wire in the same cable.
BNC connectors are not hard to install, but they must be installed correctly or they can
cause problems down the road.
The equipment that we use in the experiment are side cutters, needle nose
pliers, cable stripper, BNC crimper and cable tester. Firstly, to start the experiment we
must preparing the end of the cable with the cable stripper tool. Next, we must crimp
the pin. Before that, take the wire we want to crimp and strip off enough insulation so
that the exposed wire rests in the wire channel. After that, we install the BNC
connector. We need to slide the crimp barrel over the cable before installing the
connector itself. The connector has to fit snuggly between the outer and inner
insulation bands.
After finish with the installing, proceed with the crimping barrel. The barrel is
crimped using the other, larger opening in the BNC crimp tool die. This will tighten
and deform the crimp barrel down over the connector and cable for secure connection.
Crimping the barrel should force the bulge in the cable up over what remains of the
exposed knurled portion of the connector to the connectors base.
Lastly, while doing this experiment make sure the tool that we use in good
condition and use the proper tool. This to prevent danger for us and do not try to
improvise with pliers if do the crimping. We also must make sure when stripping the
cable we do it in correct way, make sure cuts is clean and avoid nicks as much as
possible. We also must make sure to use the proper size connector for the type of cable
we using.
