Reflection Paper - Buwis Buhay, Teaching in outlying areas

The national issues presented in the film are poverty and the poor public
transport system. I feel ashamed that my government almost did nothing to
improve the way of life the teachers live in secluded places in the country. The
teachers sacrificing and dedicating their lives to us just like the ones shown in the
docufilm Buwis Buhay, Teaching in outlying areas, are heroes. I felt that their
love of the country and its people is pure and powerful. Their cause motivated me
from the bottom of my heart to the point that I realized that I also need to do
something for my people and my country right now. Their perseverance, dedication
and patriotism should be a prime example that we, the youth should follow and
practice. As a member of the youth, for now, I can contribute and be like them by
encouraging and educating my fellow youth to value our education. There are few
things that I can suggest to solve the issues present in the film, First is, the
Government should build safe roads and bridges to these provinces so the people
there will not suffer. Second, The DepED should provide the teachers benefits and
bigger salaries so atleast there will be more teachers available throughout the
country.
