Post-lesson Evaluation:

1. Strengthens and weaknesses:

This was my first time to try task-based teaching approach, I was
not very much confident about it. I was usually the PPP approach,
and through my research I found out that TBL is just like PPP, but
upside down. I was not very comfortable at the beginning of the
class, and I had some worries about completing the task.
I think my planning was effective as the main aim and sub-aim
were achieved. The Main aim was to get my students a chance to
complete their shopping list for a three days trip to Barcelona
Hotel with a budget of 300 Euros, and my sub-aim was to give the
students a chance to express necessity in the past (e.g. I had to ).
By the end of the lesson students were able to complete the task
and they were able express necessity in the past.
Lesson stages were well graded and they guided students through
the task. Students enjoyed the lesson, although it was
challenging. Also students autonomy was raised by getting
students to work on the task depending on the language they
have. Also, they were provided by a list of clothes vocabulary to
build up on this lesson at their free time.
The task was graded to learners level, and differentiation in the
same task was allowed. Students were given different roles
according to their competency level during the same task.
Instructions were clear throughout the lesson and all students
were on task.

There was a little use of visuals at the warmer stage; I would use
more visuals to get students more involved in the following
stages.
The follow up stage could be more effective through adding up
some more form testing activities, but time didnt allow this.
2. Future Action:
I will use TBL approach for my future classes, and I will try to use
it more with lower level learners. It was challenging, but they
enjoyed it. Also, I will use the same approach (TBL) to raise
learners autonomy and avoid more teacher-centered lessons.
In the future, I will prepare enough visuals or videos to make sure
that students are fully engaged and they have understood
instruction clearly. I think the use of TBL with my lower level
students will raise their confidence and give them better chances
to decide on what to do and how to do it.
