Youth In Philanthropy Program Applications OPEN!!

Online applications for the 2015-2016 Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) Program will be available on Wednesday, September 9. The program
is open to Fort Bend County high school juniors and seniors and promotes volunteerism and philanthropy by presenting various
opportunities for students to serve their community and learn about area nonprofit organizations.
Involvement in the YIP program is also beneficial for college admissions and potential employers. Program participants also have an
opportunity to receive scholarships.
Wednesday, October 7 by 5:00 p.m. is the deadline to submit YIP applications.
Paper (written) applications will not be accepted. Students are required to complete online YIP applications, which can be accessed from
the George Foundation website. For more information and to access the online application form go to www.thegeorgefoundation.org .

BIG LCHS WELCOME TO OUR NEW AP:

Last Tuesday night the LCISD school board confirmed Mr. David Squires as Assistant Principal at LCHS.
Before his reassignment to LCHS, Mr. Squires was a CITS for GRHS, RJHS and Polly Ryon Middle School. He
has also taught chemistry in the Detroit, MI area. We are very happy to have Mr. Squires to join our Mighty
Mustang Family. He will be a huge asset to our students, staff and parents. He officially began his AP
duties at Lamar TODAY!!!

Course offered on Monday Nights @ GRHS and THS. First class will be on Tuesday,

TEST PREP SEMINARS SAT Boot Camp:
LCHS Herndon Auditorium from 9:00am-3:00pm (registration opens at 8:15am) Cost is
$55.00. There are TWO WAYS TO PAY make checks payable to Test Prep Seminars and
bring the envelope to LCHS on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19 or you may visit the website
www.testprepseminars.org to register and pay online the school code will be lamar you
can use a credit card to pay through the online system.

SPECIAL ACT Test at LCHS on OCT 24th

ACT is conducting a special Test Order Study and our students have an opportunity to take the
ACT for $19.75 without writing and for $36.75 with writing. This is a savings of 50% from the
Lamar CHS Prograd 16 base testing price. These test scores will be able to be used in college admissions, on

scholarships, and for NCAA. ONLY 11th and 12th grade LCHS Students will be able to participate
in this study. The test will be held on the LCHS campus on OCTOBER 24th. If you are interested
