IDENTIFYING THE CHANGE

While interning in the IFCCS (Intensive Foster Care & Clinical Services)
department, the supervisor identified a need for her workers to enhance
their knowledge concerning case management.
For staff to become self-sufficient, become comfortable learning new
interventions and function successfully.
WHY IS THIS CHANGE NEEDED

Instead of staff being cognizant concerning policy, they will ask the
supervisor questions about things they should know or can easily access
in policy.
Staff oftentimes wait for due dates to complete paperwork.
There is no collaboration between co-workers. Some of them have the
same problems among clients.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT CHANGE

Staff will reference policy, agency contacts, training information, and

co-workers as a source of data.
Staff will agree to be more time conscious concerning deadlines for
paperwork. A point system will be implemented to enhance their
awareness of deadlines. When workers get a certain amount of points,
they will be reprimanded.
During staffings, workers will talk about clients they are experiencing
difficulty with concerning services and/or permanency.

WHEN TO IMPLEMENT CHANGE

These changes will be presented to all IFCCS workers during the next
staffing. Next staff meeting is scheduled on 10/15/15.

Workers will have until 11/15/15 to show improvement in these areas.
