ZASTAVA 101 EXPEDITION KRAGUJEVAC-KILIMANJARO

Not many drivers of ZASTAVA 101 knows what was expedition "Kragujevac Kilimanjaro"
Here are some facts about this expedition, one of the adventures of Yugoslavian car
Zastava 101 (also known as Zastava 1100):
Expedition was created and organized by Dragan Drakulic, marketing director of Crvena
Zastava Kragujevac 1975.godine. Crvena Zastava wanted to test new cars driven
through abnormal condition.
Expedition started on 14.february 1975. from Kragujevac to Kilimanjaro, lenght over 11
000 kilometers through Nubian desert, savana, stone roads, thorn bushes and swamps .
Participants:
- WEHICLES: 5 brand ner,red ZASTAVA 101, 4 with commercial stickers, without back
seats (so lugage could be loaded) and one stadard, complete zastava 101 without
stickers.Engine oil was OPTIMA MODRICA, tyres TIGAR- Pirot;

This expedition was monitored by yugoslavian and arfican press . Also, documentary
movie was made (directed by Branko Baletic, movie music was made by Zoran
Simjanovic) and many photographs were made.
