Assigning rights to users

1) Log on to CMC
2) Click on Folders - Right-click All Folders - Properties - User Security - Add
Principal - Select user - Add & Assign Security - Advanced Tab - Add/Remove Rig
hts. Scroll Down till 'View Objects' - Check first column - uncheck the sub-obje
ct option - Apply - Ok - Ok - Close
3) Right-click on Live Reports - User Security - Add Principal - Select user - A
dd & Assign Security - Advanced Tab - Add/Remove Rights. Scroll Down till 'View
Objects' - Check first column (Leave the check options unchanged) - Apply - Ok Ok - Close
4) User is now able to open report. Upon refreshing, following error is encounte
red:
Unable to retrieve universe file {0}.
Go to Universes - Click on Manage - User Security - Add Principal - Select user
- Add & Assign Security - Provide Access Levels View & View on Demand - Apply Ok - Close
5) Now, after refreshing, following error is encountered:
com.businessobjects.mds.securedconnection.exception.SecuredConnectionException:
Unable to retrieve the connection from the CMS. Check if the connection exists i
n the CMS and if you have rights.
Go to Connections - Click on Manage - User Security - Add Principal - Select use
r - Add & Assign Security - Provide Access Levels View & View on Demand - Apply
- Ok - Close
6) This time after refreshing and entering new parameters, following error is en
countered:
Your security profile does not include permission to refresh the document. (Erro
r: ERR_WIS_30253)
Go to All Folders - Live Reports - Right-click report name - User Security - Add
Principal - Select User - Add & Assign Security - Advanced Tab - Add/Remove Rig
hts - Expand Content on LHS - Click on Web Intelligence - On RHS Check the 3 opt
ions for Refresh (Leave the check options unchanged) - Apply - Ok
7) User must log off BI LaunchPad and test again
