Homework Term 4 - #1

rd

Due back at school on Friday 23 OCTOBER

THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE THIS FORTNIGHT:

LETTER L PROJECT
FOCUS: Presentation, Inquiry Learning, Reading, Writing,
HOW IT WORKS: The learners have two weeks to choose their topic

related to the correct letter, ask a question, find and sort their information, write
a conclusion and present their findings. Alternatively they can choose to do a
five-fact project where they choose a topic and share five interesting facts
about it. Examples of both of these project styles will be shared with the learners.

READING
FOCUS: Reading
HOW IT WORKS: As with last term, reading books are always
available from the classroom. Or learners are most welcome to
select their own reading material. This can be novels, books,
comics, recipes, magazines, library books etc.

Providing learners with

the opportunity to select their own reading material allows them to take ownership of their
reading (by making choices within their reading) and allows them to read for enjoyment.

Record the titles of any reading that you do and the number of reading minutes (the time you read for)
in the reading notebook that you were given at the beginning of the year.

SPELLING
FOCUS: Spelling

HOW IT WORKS: As with last term, spelling lists are available for at home learning, for those
families that would like to reinforce these at home. Spelling lists can be found on our class
weebly, or a copy can be printed if you prefer (please let me know). Time is also given at
school to learn these. Learners are tested on their current list each fortnight in the classroom.
(with the first test in Week 3)
