Reference letter for Colette Bachand.
Colette Bachand has worked for us as a summer student for 5 consecutive years.
While working with us she was called upon to show initiative in the area of research,
publishing, and layout of material. Working in a cooperative setting with myself and
other students she was responsible in meeting her deadlines and her weekly tasks.
Not only did she do research on the historical contributions of Francophones and
Anglophones in Canadian history she also contributed in the painting of two of our
Legal murals. One on the Irish Immigration to Canada and one on Alberta`s
francophone youth activities.
While with us she did the layout of five books we did research on. These books are:
Mural Town, Art in the Park, Adventures of the Grey Nuns, Adventures of My Alberta
and Vision, Courage, Heritage.
Most of our research required knowledge of French and English. On her own
initiative to improve her French she went to Jonquire Quebec for a 6 week French
Immersion Course and came back using what she learnt.
I believe that Colette will be an excellent teacher due to her interpersonal skills, her
ability to work in a team setting, her knowledge of art, French and Social Science
and more importantly her love of people and the students.
