Repentance and Confession

The good confession for a new year:

Matthew 16:13-17 – Acknowledging that Jesus is the Christ.
What is the result?
Verses 18-19: Fruitful ministry – when Jesus is on the throne then the gates of hell
cannot overcome what God will do through you.
Verse 21: Step into a revelation – when Jesus is Lord of your life then He begins to
reveal His plans to you.

(Sometimes that revelation is too much for us to handle – at that time we need to
realize His grace is sufficient for us)

2 Timothy 2:19 – If we confess Jesus as Lord we must turn away from wickedness.
What is the result?
Verses 20-21: If we will take on the new creation then we will be most useful to God.

If you ever want to be used by God, if you ever want to be more than a mediocre
Christian then confess that you haven’t allowed Christ to be Christ in your life.

Repentance for grieving Him:

Romans 2:5
Hebrews 3:15 – Today if you hear His voice do not harden your heart!
