Reverence for God

Explain the ark and the background for the story.

1 Samuel 6:1-2, 7, 21, 7:1-2

So the ark comes to rest in the house of Abinadab and remains there for 20 plus years.

2 Samuel 6:1-7, 1 Chronicles 15:1-4, 12-15

Very interesting thing that happened here – at first glance it looks like Uzzah is trying to protect the ark. But
God makes it clear that his actions showed irreverence toward God. In the 20 plus years God had resided in his
house the ark had become just another piece of furniture.
