TIPSHEET: SETTING UP THE AVCCAM FOR 1

LAVALIERE MICROPHONE
1. Connect XLR cable from the wireless lavalier kit to input 1 on right hand
side of camera make sure mic is selected NOT LINE

Put 2 AA batteries into lavaliere receiver unit, connect XLR cable to


receiver using the OUTPUT jack now mount receiver on the hotshoe
near the built in mic on the camera handle. Press the SET button on top
of the receiver unit to display the frequency that the receiver is set to.

3. Put 2 AA batteries in transmitter part of the unit and attach the lavaliere
microphone. Make sure MIC is selected for the switch on top of the
unit. Press SET to check frequency matches the receiver.

4. On the left hand side of the camera behind the LCD screen assign a
channel where the input 1 signal will be sent. In the example in the image
below input 1 is being assigned to channel 1. And input 1 is being given
mic power 48V. Because the input 2 is not being used in this set up input
2 is not being given any microphone power.

5. Set audio levels by dialing the audio level dial (under the small plastic
guard lower left hand side of camera) to a suitable level (between -6dB
and -12dB)

6. The on screen display on LCD screen will provide a visual guide your
audio should be over the midway line put must never hit the red line. The
redline shows that your audio is being recorded at a level where your
audio is unusable.
