0 ISOMETRIC PROJECTION
Isometric projection is a method of producing a pictorial view of an object, in which a
three -dimensional view of an object is shown on a two- dimensional drawing sheet.
Isometric projection shows the three views of the object simultaneously.
The isometric projection is used by construction engineers for the preparation of
pictorial views at construction sites and it is also used by design engineers in the design
and development of new or complicated parts when the shape of the part is difficult to
understand in multiview projection.
Note: in isometric projection, the horizontal edges of the object are found to be at 30 to
the horizontal. For example, figure 7a shows a cube that is projected in the isometric
view. The horizontal axis of the cube appear at 30 to the horizontal.
