SPONSER
Star Power the local Fremantle netball club are seeking new sponsorship
to help them continue operating next season. They are seeking a sponsor
of $AU 25 000 in the next few months before the new season commences.
The club has been a part of the local community for over 25 years and
over this time as produced several national netball champions, such as Liz
Ellis and Melissa Dodger.
"We are a valued club among the community and it would be a shame to
see it all end, we have seen many generations of local families involved
over years" Said Tina Madison, club president.
Star Power offer something for everyone from junior teams to senior
teams. They encourage team work, health and fitness to all members
from several age groups. Unlike many other local netball clubs, Star power
also offer male mixed teams ensuring that everyone gets involved.
Catering to a large amount of teams and members can often drain the
clubs budget. The donation will go towards club and ground maintenance,
supplies, uniforms, administration cost etc.
The new sponsor will have their company logo printed on the uniform and
club merchandise. "It's a great way for a business to be recognised, as
they club brings together a large amount of people in the community,"
Said Tina.
Star Power are a successful club that have won many grand finals over the
years. Several players have gone on to represent Australia and competed
in many prestigious netball competitions. One of these players is Melissa
Dodger, who has represented the country on several occasions.
" some of my best memories were playing for Star Power. I made lifelong
friends and felt a part of the local community. It if wasn't for the guidance
of the club and the coaches, I wouldn't be at the level of netball I am
today" Said Melissa.
The club is relying on sponsorship to continue playing a large role in
bringing everyone in the community together.

important to me, being Italian I am very family oriented as it is a part of our
traditions. I love to spend as much time with them as much as I can.
I enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures and interacting with new
people from all around the world, I recently travelled to Europe with some
friends, on this trip I pushed myself to try new things and get out of my comfort
zone. Which helped me grow as a person.
I am currently employed by the large multinational cosmetics company Revlon,
through this job I have met an array of different people and improved my
communication skills, as I have dealt with individuals from all walks of life. Over
my time with Revlon I have kept a close eye on and observed the brands public
relation and marketing campaigns, hoping to have a better understanding of how
a large corporation goes about conducting PR.
I am studying a double major of Public Relations and Marketing at Curtin
university, although I have not finished my course I am thoroughly enjoying it
and am always enthusiastic to learn more. I was drawn to this field by my love
for working and interacting with people, it also love thinking outside the box and
being creative.
I believe there is an increasing importance for businesses to partake in PR as it is
vital for them to ensure their message is being delivered correctly to
stakeholders. Using PR tool is an effective way for them to communicate to the
world in both good and bad times.
I have a special interest in crisis management, I am always over thinking and
analysing situations, however are able to stay cool and calm when things don't
go my way, which can come in handy in this area of PR. Once graduating from
university, I would love the opportunity to work in a large corporation similar to
Revlon

Blog Post on 7 Summits Project

The Motivation Behind Cody's Will to Climb

On the 15th September 2015 Cody Hudson arrived in a small village in
Nepal, he was greeted by the smiling faces of the local children as they
ran from their homes. Many of the older children seem to remember him
from his last visit and greeted him with open arms. These children are the
very reason Cody decided to take on a challenge of great proportions. His
love for outdoors and climbing combined with is love for the children of
Nepal is what made the 7 summits project come about.

"Their spirit and willingness to learn inspired me to take on the

challenge" - Cody Hudson
Walking around the local school, it was evident to Cody that there was a
lack of equipment and resources which would make it almost impossible
for these children to receive a proper education. He was compelled to give
a helping hand, as he believes education is the only way forward when it
comes to breaking the devastating effects of poverty. Which leaves many
of these children to struggle without the basic necessities.
Cody believes education is a privilege that many people don't fully
appreciate, he thinks we should communicate this message to the
younger generations so they can fully understand how lucky they are.

" Education is the tool to overcoming major world issues such

as poverty, many of us complain about going to school when
these children would do just about anything for a proper
education" Cody said.
Climbing the highest peaks on the 7 different contents can often have its
challenges for Cody, mentally, physically and emotionally. However, the
thought of raising $250,000, providing books, stationary, educational
equipment and helping to train teachers in these small communities
motivated him to overcome these tribulations.

" Every time I am climbing a mountain and my body feels like

giving in, I think of these children's smiling faces and I know all
the pain is worth it" - Cody Hudson

Over the next two weeks Cody will spend sometime in the community,
connecting with the locals and helping out at the local school. This is his
form of mental preparation heading into his next climb which is
Ancocagua on 1st February. He will think back to this time spent with the
children and use it as leverage to keep going on when climbing the 6961m
peak.
