Homework

Students are asked to complete one page in

their Sound Book Weekly. Children learn
best through natural play so giving your child
many opportunities to explore their home
surroundings through discovery and play is
essential. As well, students are asked to
read one book nightly with a parent or other
adult. Including it in their bedtime routine is
an easy way to incorporate it!. You could
read a story and then ask the your child a
question or two about it.

We are starting a new term and a unit of inquiry

with the central idea being: "People use technology
to satisfy their needs and wants". We will be focusing on what our needs and wants are and how
they are met. Some of the key questions we will be
exploring are: What is the difference between a need
and a want? How does technology help us get our
needs and wants met? Such as how do we get
food or clean water to our table? How are our
needs and wants now different from our parents
and grandparents?
