General Focus of the Plan:


Mathematics Active application of fractions with in rhythm counting
Specific Goal (Must be measurable or written in a manner that allows for
progress to be noted):
80% or more of students will demonstrate an increased understanding of the
relationship between rhythm, fractions, and note lengths through Formative and
Formal Assessment. The students will demonstrate improvement in the rhythm
section of the Technique portion of the rubric as well as written rhythm tests and
assignments. Playing and written assessments of counting will each be given
once a quarter.

The topic will be address through assignments, lecture, lessons, visual aids, and
exams. As listed above one each of 2 types of assessment will be given each
quarter. Assignments will be graded and progress will be track through Rubrics,
Pre and Post Testing, and other assignments.
