Crownmounted or inline DSC ??

A crownmounted compensator incorporates:

No service loops in the derrick

Easy access during operation
Reduced traveling weight, thus fuel and drill wire saving
Reduced traveling length in the derrick, minimizing the
probability for a derrick extension in case of upgrade
Less moving equipment in the derrick
Easy upgradeable from passive to active heave, with only
mechanical interface
