Dates To Remember
A new tavern is scheduled to open on Lincoln Avenue that has been raising some
concerns. NYPD has assured us that proactive measures are in place to curtail
issues that have occurred in the past. We wish the new owners all the best of luck
and prosperity, and hope to have them at a future meeting!
The GCCA is still in need of filling the position of Vice President. Any and all
persons will receive thoughtful considerations from the Board.
The street and sidewalk markings that were placed in the areas around Hamden
Avenue and Hunter Avenue were done so to facilitate the drilling rigs that are
taking soil samples. In conversations with the workers, the presumptions are its
the preliminary work for the installations of catch basins. As we know, these
locations have frequent ponding issues and have been reported by us for over a
decade. We will pass along any new information when it becomes available.
Assemblywoman Malliotakis is addressing the growing problem of crimes
perpetuated against the elderly. A forum has been convened and a public input
data collection will soon follow. Please pass along any incidents first to the NYPD,
then to her office or the GCCA.
Please note, due to Election Day, our November meeting is delayed by one week.
Please promote the Grant City Civic Association to your neighbors and friends.
Invite guests to attend the meetings to discuss our community.
