ABSTRACT
E-Government, using the modern technologies and harmonizing them appropriate to
the circumstances, is nowadays a modern civic support tool in everyday life. The area
of local government is a very wide scope of practice e-Governance, which aims at
facilitate transactions between citizens and Local Authorities. In this paper, after an
extend reference to the terms and the definitions of e-Government, there are studied
with details the elements of e-Government, in the Municipality of Serres website,
highlighting the advantages and identifying the weaknesses in the particular site.
Through research it is provided that citizens of Serres intend clearly to use eGovernment services to handle the affairs of the municipality, despite the fact that the
official website of the Municipality deserves several improvements and additions, in
order to fully meet the modern needs of the citizen.
