COURSE METHODOLOGY
The course will be delivered using classroom lectures consisting of verbal and
multimedia presentations, group discussions, and written assessments. The students
will be assessed in obtaining the course objectives through written essays/projects and
quizzes/examinations.
COURSE EVALUATION
Grades for the course will be based upon the cumulative total of course content exams
covering lectures and textbook reading. The evaluation will also include the essay
assignments and class participation.
Student scores are to be discussed in private conference with the instructor. A rough
approximation of relative values for evaluation is included in the Grading section.
Reading Quizzes
Quizzes are open-book and un-timed and cover the contents of the chapter studied that
week. Students will take the quizzes online by accessing the Blackboard Assessments
tool. Grades will be made available to the student following the submission of the quiz.
You may take the reading quizzes as many times as you like, and Blackboard will keep
the highest score. There are no make-up dates for quizzes. They are all open the week

covered. Deadline to complete the quiz is at midnight. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Maxwell Leadership Bible Devotion Essays

concepts learned throughout the course. There are multiple assignments associated
with the simulation.

Assignment Guidelines
1 Submitting Work: When you submit written work, please prepare it in a wordprocessor using a format/style consistent with professional business practice. We
will use the Style Guide of the American Psychological Association (also known
as: APA manual) as the standard. Your use of the APA style assures that you
demonstrate consistency, professional appearance, organization, and effective
authentication and documentation. Quality work is free of spelling and grammar
errors and has a professional appearance. I will consider the use of APA style
and professional appearance of your work in determining your grade for an
assignment. Below is a website that will help with APA style. It is also easy to
find examples of APA citations and references by doing key word searches on
the internet. For example citing websites.
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01
2 Identifying Submissions: Please include, as the first page of each assignment, a
title page that provides appropriate identifying information. You will find an
example of a title page at the end of the syllabus. If the requirements for an
assignment indicate a minimum or maximum number of pages, the title page,
table of contents, if any, and list of references are not counted in the number of
pages submitted. Your submissions should follow the following guidelines:
a

Use double spacing left justified (not right-left justified)

Type size of 12 points
Times New Roman font or its equivalent
One inch margin on all sides

Since the various assignments in this class do not always have 100 points possible, the
letter grade for each assignment can be calculated using percentages, just as the final
grade for the course will be calculated. For example, if an assignment has a total point
value of 50 points and the point award is 41 points, 41 50 = 82%, then the letter
grade is B-. For the final course grade, the same methodology will be used. If 972 of
1040 points are earned, the letter grade will be A (972 1070 = 93.5%).

COURSE POLICIES
Late Work
Due to the nature of the course, whereby team members are affected by the
performance of other students, there is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for late work.
Students must attend class and participate in all activities or their grades will be
negatively affected. Students who miss activities that occur during a regularlyscheduled class time will receive a zero unless they are participating in a
university activity or can prove they are too ill to come to class (doctors note).
Students who participate in extra-curricular activities will be required to make
arrangements with their team members to contribute regularly to team
assignments.
