    The Beat

    A moment of silence
    Then a faint commotion begins-Lub dub lub dub.
    As the moment arrives,
    A pounding in my chest commences-Lub dub lub dub.
    As I await my turn,
    A rambunctious beating arises-Lub dub lub dub
    Then the calling of my name-- Lauren.
    Its my turn to speak, but all I hear is
    Lub dub lub dub.
