Halloween Night

Fades in
8:45pm 31st of October 2000 Sophie and her mother are having an argument about a Halloween party, her
mother is saying that she is not allowed to go.

Sophie Jones
Mum this is so unfair all of my friends are going, I will be the only, one please

Mrs Jones
Sophie a no is a no, your grades are clearly showing that you should be spending more time at home doing
work

Sophie Jones
Its not my fault that Im stupid

Mrs Jones

Sophie you know thats no true come on, Im doing this for your own good

Sophie Jones
You wouldnt know whats good for me if it hit you in the face

Mrs Jones
Sophie just go upstairs and finish your work and stop arguing with me

Sophie Jones
Uh Im so moving out, fine whatever bye

Scene fades out and dissolves into a clip of Sophie lying on her bed texting her friends, she
throws her phone across the room and rolls over and faces the wall, she falls asleep as the
clock reads 9:30
Sophie wakes up and the clock reads 11:45, the house is silent and she starts to pack a bag, she
gathers her things and is out by midnight, she creeps down stairs and goes out the back door she
starts walking and it is pitch black she calls her friend.

Yeah I snuck out Im on my way to yours now so we can get ready

Jessica Fields
Yes Sophie!

Sophie Jones
No one is home right?

Jessica Fields

Yep we have the whole house to get ready

Sophie continues to walk to her friends house, she hears a stick break behind her along with
footsteps but she ignores it and carries on walking.
She arrives at Jessicas house
*Doorbell*
Jessica opens the door and gives Sophie a hug, they begin to talk about Sophie and her argument
with her mother, Jessica shuts the door and they begin to walk up stairs

Jessica Fields
So what happened with your mum then?

Sophie Jones
Uhh she was being so annoying, she was saying that I didnt do enough work this week or
something so I couldnt go

Jessica Fields
Uhh that sucks, well youre here now

They hear a gust of wind, when they turn around the door is wide open
Sophie Jones
You shut that right?

Jessica Fields
Um yeah it must have just been the wind
The girls hesitantly walk up stairs to get ready for the party
They put on their party clothes and go down stairs to grab a snack.

Jessica opens the fridge and they hear another gust of wind
They urgently turn their heads to the door, they run over and look outside a dark shadow turns a
corner, the girls scream and slam the door shut, they lock the door and every window in the
house, they run upstairs and lock themselves in Jessicas room.

Jessica scrambles for her phone and dials her mums number.

Jessica Fields
Mum..mum can you hear me, listen something really weird is going on the door keeps opening and I
saw a dark shadow run

Phone line goes dead

Jessica Fields
Mum..Mum?! Are you there?

Jessica turns to look at Sophie who is looking at her with a concerned look

Jessica Fields
It went dead Sophie what do we do?

*Sophies phone rings*

Jessica Fields
Who is it?

Sophie looks up at her with a frightened expression.

Sophie Jones
It says blocked number

Sophie picks up the phone and puts it on speaker.

A deep disguised voice beings to speak

If you want her back you have to do what I say

Fades out.

Storyboard

This shot shows the mother and daughter

having an argument, amid shot is used to
show the point of view as if you were standing
in front of them. This lighting should be dim
as if its a winter night and it is dark outside.

The next shot shows Sophie sneaking out of

the house with a bag with her party clothes.
Lighting: should be dim and the only thing lit
should be her face.
Sound: A gust of wind as she leaves the
house.

She arrives at her friend Jessicas house this shot

shows her knocking on the door and going into
Jessicas they start to walk upstairs and the next
shot roles.
Light: The same night time esque lighting.
Sound: Doorbell noise, outside noises.

As they are walking upstairs they hear a

gust of wind behind them and the door is
wide open they look at the door
questioningly but go back upstairs it
happens again, next shot.

The girls go over to the door and investigate

on the doorstep. Next clip.

They see a shadow peering through a window and

the run upstairs and lock themselves in Jessicas
Room. Next clip

Jessica Calls her mum in a panic and

tries to tell her what is going on, they
here a scream on the other end of the
line then it goes dead the girls don't
know what to do.

Sophies phone begins to ring and its from a

blocked number a deep voice threatens
them and the shot goes black.
