Reflection paper about prayer:

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness.
It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a
heart. Mahatma Gandhi

Prayer is our personal connection with God. Our quality time with him. Our
chances to talk to him and at the same time listen to his words. But why are there
people who are taking this chance for granted?

Prayer is a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or

an object of worship. There are no patterns or a proper way to pray. We might learn
from school that a good way to pray is by using the acronym ACTS but in reality, all that
God wants is for us to say a little prayer to him. Some are just making a big deal out of
it. We are thought of so many different kinds of prayers that we are asked to memorize
but the rationale, the essence on why we pray is gone. We tend to just recite all those
memorized prayers and didnt get the intentions of it.

Im a practicing Catholic and help the children in our community/parish on how

exciting, fulfilling, and enjoyable praying is. Its not just memorizing those words that we
are thought of. Its what comes from our heart and soul that we utter through our mouths
that makes a prayer so dearly important. Its also the intentions behind those sought of
prayers that make a prayer solemn. Those words that our mouths cannot utter but our
hearts, minds, and spirit can so easily express. I believe that personal prayers are much
more special because the message behind those simple yet expressive words is what
makes a prayer.

When in doubt, pray. When experiencing trials, pray. At times of triumph, pray.
