This document summarizes a study that examined the effect of counseling on students' knowledge and attitudes about hepatitis B transmission through premarital sexual intercourse. The study provided counseling to 110 students at SMAN 1 Teluk Belitung high school in Indonesia. Results showed that counseling significantly improved students' knowledge and attitudes, as assessed before and after using a questionnaire and statistical analysis. The conclusion is that counseling effectively increased understanding and positive attitudes regarding hepatitis B transmission through premarital sex.

Abstract: Among adolescent classified as a high risk group and prone to the danger of
transmission of sexually transmitted diseases such as hepatitis b. current hepatitis b remains a
worldwide health problem because it can cause chronic liver disease to hepatocelluler carcinoma. Premarital sexual intercourse is a causative factor which can transmit the hepatitis B virus. This Research aimed to find out the level of knowledge and attitude of student SMAN 1 Teluk Belitung of transmission of hepatitis b through sexual intercourse before marriage before and after counseling.The research method used was a pre-experimental (one group pra-post test design). The research population was the entire students in grade II IPS of SMAN 1 Teluk Belitung. Total samples of this research much as 110 person. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire, the data obtained were processed using the Marginal Homogeneity dan Mcnemar with a significancy level p = < 0,005. The results showed there is an effect of counseling on level of knowledge and attitude of students SMAN 1 Teluk Belitung, based on Marginal Homogeneity dan Mcnemar obtained p= 0,000, which meant p was smaller than (0,05). The conclusion of this research there was a effect counseling on level of knowledge and attitude of student SMAN 1 Teluk Belitung of transmission of hepatitis b through premarital sexual intercourse.
