Bloomsbury Publishing Company. I am applying for the internship position in the
editorial or publicity department under the Childrens Division, which I found the ad for
on your companys website.
I am currently a junior at Bloomsburg University and I have a strong interest in book
publishing due to the fact that I have read several of the best-selling authors in which
your company has published. Some of the authors that I have read include: J.K.
Rowling, Shannon Hale, Louis Sachar, and Simone Elkeles. Throughout my
experiences working in retail, I am very self-motivated when it comes to tasks assigned
to me. My current job taught me that I have good communication skills with my other
employees and managers, and that I am very organized in the work field. I have to
multitask frequently at my job, so it is fairly easy for me to prioritize my time.

Bloomsbury Publishing Inc. is looking to fill several intern positions. These positions are in the
editorial, publicity, marketing, production, contracts and finance departments, and are available
in both the Adult, Children's, and Academic divisions. Time worked is flexible, and may be two
to five days per week. Candidates are also encouraged to work in several departments to gain
experience in all facets of trade book publishing.
The ideal candidate should be a junior or senior in college. Must be self motivated, have
excellent communication and organizational skills. Multitasking capability is a must as well as
strong prioritizing skills. Candidates should have a strong interest in book publishing. The
internship is unpaid but students will receive a daily stipend. Students should be receiving
college credit.
