Magazine Treatment

What My Magazine should be«

Magazine Name
‡ I have decided to call my magazine

indigo because I feel it is aimed

towards my target audience ‡ The first half of the name connotes the indie genre of my magazine ‡ The whole name is a colour associated with women

Sell line
‡ The sell line I have chosen to use for my magazine is

always naughty always noisy

‡ I have decided to use this because It has a cheeky element to it and also describes the genre of music I am reporting on

Target Audience
‡ My target audience is young females between the ages of 18 and 25 with a taste for indie music

Genre
‡ The genre of music that I have chosen to report on is indie ‡ This is independent label music but I will be including some artists and musicians that may not be indie but have the same style and musical attitude

Price
‡ I will be selling my magazine for £2.90 as I think this is a fair average amount for a fortnightly issued magazine

Main Cover Image

‡ My main cover image will be of a female model posed in a certain way so when I edit and impose it onto a background it will have an µAlice in wonderland¶ effect ‡ I have chosen this theme because I feel it is fitting for the female orientated readership

Frequency
‡ I have decided my magazine would be a fortnightly issued magazine because then I could offer it at a lower price but with more included

Other Front Cover Elements

‡ on my front cover I will also include another image of a different artist to show contrast between indie variations ‡ I will also have headlines from articles in the magazine

Unique Selling Points

‡ My magazine has a few unique selling points that ensures it reaches its target audience ‡ My magazine will report on mainly female artists and will concentrate on strong female indie musicians ‡ It will also be reporting on a genre of music that many women are interested in but is dominated by male artists
