Pope Francis VIsits U.S
Throughout of September 22nd and September 27th Pope Francis visited the
United States. He visited Washington D.C, New York, and Philadelphia. He gave lots of
speeches throughout his visit here in the U.S. He first arrived in D.C at Joint Base
Andrews. Then early in the morning Pope Francis arrived at The White House for a
State Arrival Ceremony with President Obama and other government officials in
attendance.During his last day in Washington D.C Pope Francis gave a speech to the
Senate and the HORs (House of Representatives). He also paid a visit to St. Patricks
Catholic Church.
During his visit in New York he addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
Later on Friday he paid a visit to the 9/11 memorial site where met with local
representatives of the world religions inside Foundation Hall at the 9/11 Memorial
Museum for a multi-religious meeting for peace. Finally, during his visit in Philadelphia
he attended mass at Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul and met with Bishops at
St. Martins Chapel, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He also visited a correctional
facility to speak with selected inmates and their families. Later on September 27th Pope
Francis gets ready for departure to return back to Rome.
