PROFESSIONAL REFLECTION

I decided to study Social Work because I think that the bad

things can changes if all of us want to do it. For begining the
changes each one need to be concient and try to help the
others. I really want to help the people but as a professional
person, not giving advices, I thing the best way is studing a
professional career and involving in the problems of my
country.
When I began to study I was sure that the things cans changes
suddenly, but of course when the time was passing I could to
prove that it is not true at all. The goverment, the economic
system, the culture, the religinevery things are one at the
hour to decide to change, and of course I cant change all of
them. It was my first disappoinment with my career. But I know
that to do somenthing as well
involves good and bad
situations, then I decided to work step by step and only in one
topic each time.

Doingd the practices I had have the opportunity to know

interesting fields to work, and amazing people too. After that,
I confirmed that I am not wrong about my decision to study
Social Work.
I choose the Fundacin Universitaria Monserrate because it
was the only one who has Social Work at nights, and it is
near to my job place. Those were the mains reasons. At
present I really like to study here specially for the quality of
our teachers, all of them are really good profesional people
and very nice guys.
Finally, Throughout my professional career and work
experience, I have gained solid and updated knowledge that
allowed me to achieve a proper understanding of the social,
economic and political life of my country and the world reality
obtained the capcity to help them.

WHAT IS YOUR CAREER ABOUT?

It is about the best way to help my country, my city and the citizens; it
means that after I finish my studies I will have the knowledge for
instructing all of them in the best way to solve their problems, it means
that I will can direct them to the places or organizations who cans helps
them according with their difficulties. It sounds easy, but trusts me; to do
it will be so difficult, especially if you have to work with the help of the
governments institutions of your country.
WHERE CAN YOU STUDY THAT CAREER IN COLOMBIA?
Fortunately in Colombia we have many Universities to study Social Work,
some of them are public Universities, and the other ones are private. You
can choose the best for you according the city, the place where you live,
and of course according your resources.
