FUNCTIONS OF THE SOCIAL WORKER

ADVOCACY
A geriatric social worker is a frontline defense for stopping elderly people
abuse: a geriatric social worker is mandatedby law to report to any
suspectedelderly people abuse to adult protective services.

CLINICAL INTERVENTIONS
The social worker may provide therapy for an elderly client who fells lonely or who
is suffering depression. We can provide to the clients activities to stimulate and
help the people to be busy, making craftwork or recording life stories.

SERVICE INTERVENTIONS
The social worker is too a link between their clients and the numerous public
and private programs designed for the aging. We can located them to the
appropriate services that they need and can apply.
