USA Hockey Announce Downriver MI

Hockey Camp
Southgate, MI - October 23, 2015 USA Hockey Association announced that it was
organizing a youth hockey camp for the Downriver area Michigan. The camp will start or
December 2, and proceed till December 5. It will be held at Southgate Ice Area. This
camp was set up by local community leaders through USA Hockey. It has all been paid
for by donations and staff have all lended their time and service for free.
We have also been fortunate to be getting help from professional hockey players as part
of advertising and actually participating in the camp. They include Pavel Datsuk,
Henrik Zetterburg, Thomas Tatar, Alex Ovechkin, and Sidney Crosby. They will appear
in a number of media and press events before running drills and ultimately helping
develop young hockey players.
By having this camp we hope more young people will be interested in hockey. We hope
to teach them and create a fun atmosphere for them to learn and play in while having
real NHL players to look up to and imitate. We hope in all to bring a hockey type attitude
to the Downriver area.
