Foundations Of Stereotypes

OverView: Stereotypes are ideas or images that are


oversimplified and fixed of people or things. Many
stereotypes focus on ethnicity , gender , class and social
status. Many of the Stereotypes in America stem from
unusual roots. Additionally , many stereotypes exist
because of intricate events, rather than a sample
observation made by a group of people.

POLICE

The police has its roots in a surprising


beginning.Two hundred years before
America became free from the British , it
was divided into 13 colonies had african
slaves to do the dirty work of white men.
White people quickly became abusive

toward their slaves. This abusiveness led to slaves contemplating and attempting escape by
running away .

SLAVERY

Slavery in america began when the first African


slaves were brought to the North American
colony of Jamestown,Virginia. Slavery were
practiced Throughout the American
colonies.The invention of the Cotton Gin in
1793 solidified the central importance of
slavery to the souths economy.

CIVIl WAR

The Civil War is the central event in Americas


historical consciousness. The civil war was
determining of what kind of nation it was
going to be. All men were created with an
equal right to liberty , would continue to exist
as the largest save-holding country in the
world.

CONFEDERATE STATES

The Confederate States of America , was the


government created by 11 southern states of the

united states after they seceded from the union. The union refused to recognize the
confederacy .Four other slave states - delaware, Maryland , kentucky and missouri remained in
the union.
OBESITY
Obesity can be classified as a worldwide epidemic ,
with the united states the undisputed leader in
obesity prevalence . It is curently estimated that 97
million adults are overweight or obese in this
country alone.With the spread of obesity has come
an increasing incidence of a cardiovascular disease
, type of 2 diabetes,hypertension , certain c
ancers and other obesity related - morbidities .

CRIME RATE

Crime in the U.S is the most Comprehensive


analysis of violent crime and property crime in the
nation. The annual publication complies volume
and rate of crime offenses for the nation and the
states and many cities and countries. Hate crime
statistics presents yearly data reaguarding incidents
and offenses and victims and offenders in reported
crimes.

PRISON RATE

Between 2006 and 2011 , more than half the


states reduced their prison populations and in 10
states the number of people incarcreated fell by

10 percent or more. Those who are incarcerated in U.S prisons come largely from the most
disadvantaged segments of the population.

TEST SCORES

Test scores results are only one measure of


students achievement they have become
increasingly important in assessing student
learning. testing in english alot of people
have not met the standards. In math people
nearly met the standards or met them

EDUCATION

Education is for a changing world , is that we need to


upgrade our curriculum to prepare students for our vast
changing world. We need to become strategic , learners
ourselves by deliberately expanding our perspectives and
updating our approaches. Having a good education could
take you anywhere in life when you get older , if you go to
college and take all the steps to get there correctly. you will
have a really good life . just need to be really responsible
with a lot .
