Honoring All Who Served
This is my dad,Corporal
Dennis Lee Butler, of
Arkansas City. He was
Nazarene
(Continued from page 15)
of the military were asked to
bring items.
"We've done this once
before but only filled about
one table," said office assistant Gayle Webb. This year
the flock responded with
numerous pictures, awards
and other service mementos enough to fill up
one large table and several
smaller ones.
"We really wanted to do
something special to honor
veterans and family members who served in the military," Webb said.
The church had a special
Veteran's Day service on
Nov. 8.
The displays were
arranged by Webb and Jill
Young, a member of the
decoration committee at the
church.
"Eagle Nest, J.C. Penney's
and Goodwill helped us out
by loaning mannequins and
display racks," Young said.
Webb was so adamant
about honoring veterans
and recognizing Veteran's
Day she even insisted on
a new American flag to be
flown outside the church.
"I wanted it to be red and
blue on brilliant white,"
Webb said. "We need to
honor our veterans any way
we can."
