Job Description:
Excellent opportunity to gain work experience within a Clinical Trials Centre.
William Harvey Research Institute Clinical Trials Centre at Barbican. The centre is part of the National
Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit. We are part of the
world leading cardiovascular research programme at the New Barts Heart Centre which is now the
largest tertiary heart hospital in the UK.
The CRC runs clinical trials in multiple therapeutic areas. We have a broad portfolio of studies and
involve Principal Investigators from Barts Health Trust as well as from Queen Mary University of
London. We are involved in patient and public engagement activities and actively work with GP
practices serving 500,000 people in East London.
The Position:

An exciting volunteer opportunity exists for a Personal Assistant (PA) to join WHRI. You will provide
PA support to the three Medical Research Fellows who are involved in running Clinical Trials. You will
be assisting with daily administration which includes: diary management, typing medical letters, filing,
faxing and photocopying.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to expand on their skills or up-skill, gain work experience
within the clinical and research environment or utilise your experience and attributes while searching
for a career. You will also enhance your C.V. by working within a medical environment while giving
back to the community.
Ideally you will:
Have strong multi-tasking skills

Good working knowledge Ms Office including Word and Excel

Exceptional organisation skills

Proactive and have a Can Do attitude

Provide 5 - 10 hours per week of your time (Flexible on days and time)
