Not often, unless there is no other scene going on during the titles
so I am not distracted.

Big dark houses and scary music

Set the scene of the film, the place in which the characters may be
spending most of the film in.

Sharp, piercing sounds and unexpected music.

I think what makes horrors scary is camera skill and music because
nothing they can show you on screen is as scary as whats in your

head so a good horror film is all about suggestion that comes from
music and cinematography.
