Wine Making
I.

Objective
Produce wine from house old waste
materials
II. Materials
1. Apparatus: one-gallon bottles,
cheesecloth,
chopping board, knife,
rubber tubing, cork, plastic bag, spoon,
wide-mouthed bottle,
kettle, rubber
band
2. Chemicals: banana, small orange,
lemon,
brown sugar, baker's yeast, tea
III. Procedure
1. Peel and chop 10 pieces of ripe
banana and place in a kettle.
2. And 200 grams of granulated brown
sugar.

3. Add water until the banana is


completely
covered with water.
4. Cut the orange and lemon into
halves.
Squeeze one-half of the lemon and
orange. Set aside the juice and the
peelings to the mixture.
5. Bring the mixture to boil using a
slow fire. Stir the mixture to dissolve all
the sugar.
6. Wash and sterilize one-gallon bottle.
To sterilize, rinse the bottle with boiling
water.
7. Add 20 cc of cold tea solution, the
lemon and orang juices.
8. Let the mixture cool then transfer
into the
sterilized bottle.
9. Sprinkle one - half teaspoonful of
bread yeast then cover the bottle with
cheesecloth. Use a rubber band to hold
the cover in place.

10. Remove the cover everyday and


stir the
mixture.
11. On the fifth day, using another
clean cheesecloth, separate the solid
part from the liquid part. The liquid part is
now collected
using the second
sterilized bottle.
12. Cover the bottle with a clean cork,
then wrap it with a thick cloth, and next
put in a
warm place.
13. Fermentation will be completed
from four to 12 weeks.
14. After the third month, filter the
mixture to
remove extra lees present
in the solution.
15. To pasteurize the product, heat the
bottle with mixture for 20 minutes at 60
degrees Celsius.
