During the admission interview at your psychiatric hospital, Harold verbalizes his need for
treatment and has been able to discuss the increasingly negative impact that alcohol is having on
his life. Harold reveals that he has been drinking a fifth of vodka per day in addition to several
beers. Harold states that his last drink was 12 hours earlier. Harold is underweight and has gum
disease. Harolds wife, Laura, is supportive of Harolds treatment, although she is having trouble
believing that Harold is committed to a program of recovery.
