Project Description:
Different But Not Strange is a regional project running from 2004 to 2008 that aims at promoting cultural
dialogue among the multiethnic population of the Samara Oblast'. The project includes a multitude of activities,
e.g. studies, publications, festivals, exhibitions, creation of multilingual web-sites for cultural institutions,
training, international cultural exchange, etc. and for different actors.
Lessons to be Learned:
The project is an attempt to settle and prevent conflicts among the 130 different ethnic groups in the Samara
Region through intercultural action.
